According to the motto “digital transformation in locistics” the Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg has hosted the logistics autumn conference focused on the topic of digital transformation the 02 December in the chamber of commerce.
After introducing the event by Mr Carlo Thielen, director Gerneral of the chamber of commerce and president of the cluster for logistics, Mr Stefan Schrauf from PWC has provided some examples how digitization makes the supply chain more efficient. The next speaker DR. Thorsten Mallé, board member of the BVL and director International Business development at AEB GmbH has given some insights into how the industry is actually driving change in SCM/logistics. During a videoconference Prof. Benny Mantin, the new director of the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL), has informed the audience about Digitization, Automation & Process Improvement. Followed by Mr Romain Nicot from the company one point, he has told the listeners about making the Supply Chain more flexible.
Mr Malik Zeniti, Senior Cluster Manager of the Cluster for Logistics informed the audience about the Cluster`s activities during 2016. In that context we as Young Professionals had the chance to present our vision and mission of the new existing network. After announcing the starting point at the embassy of Luxembourg during the yearly supply chain conference in October in Berlin, it has been the first presentation in front of the Cluster`s members. First the speakers have explained their imagination of the vision of the YPL² network. For them it’s very important that the participating members will exchange their experience, discussing actual trends and finding new opportunities and inspiration to boost their career prospects.
The founding members want to make sure diversity in their events, for example by hosting special ones such as workshops, fieldtrips or even company visits. Besides that they wish that the potential members or supporters will bring in themselves proactively to strengthen the whole community, but also to seek for advice and make use of other supporting members to receive logistics information from first hand. The YP`s are very much interest in generating but also guaranteeing a permanent win-win situation for all involved parties, they want to make use of the synergies. Therefore they are relying on outside help to achieve the vision. In that context they are open for every ideas and advices that can help them to grow.
Further they were presenting their mission and the roadmap for 2017. For the next year they are planning a kickoff event in spring, a fieldtrip in summer and a further event in fall to reevaluate their self. They are actually searching for now supporters and members so feel free to contact them.

All in all it has been an informative event which has offered new impulses and inspiration on how to make Supply chains more efficient agile and customer-focused by digitizing for thoughts to all participants.
